Tried to adjust my lock stops this morning and one of them snapped. I have managed to remove the lock nut from the back of it but can not get nothing on the remaining threads to grab it as there is a little 11mm bolt right underneath it. What is that little bolt for?? Can I safely remove it??

Cheers

No! Don't take that out! The engine will fall out if you remove that bolt.

Nah I am interested as well lol I need to adjust mine but am wary incase they shear or snap

Thanks James. Will remove it and try again. There is loads left stuck out so will try to grab it with the mole grips. If that dont work i'm gonna have to drag my welder out which I really cant be arsed to do!!

Well I thought i'd take the easy option and grab it with some mole grips. That never worked so I started drilling it. Have drilled it all the way through with a 7mm bit but its still stuck and now the end of it is fecked so fair to say I made of mess of that job. Cant drill it with any bigger drill bits because the longer bits make the drill sit as a funny angle and it catches on the axle.

Give up. Im a beaten man.

you could try putting a piece of copper pipe in there then weld down the pipe, in theory the copper will act as a heat sink and the weld shouldn't fuse onto it it should just go onto the bolt, just tack it up slowly, thats how I took out a broken stud in my crank shaft just without the heat sink as I was smart about it :p
