Defender steel storage boxes

Ive been following this guys progress on a different forum, in setting up his new business making storage boxes for the load area of Defenders

Barebox.co.uk

I genuinely have no connection to his business, but the boxes seem to be getting lots of praise, so thought I'd spread the word.

No, I havent. But folk on the landrovernet defender forum seem quite pleased with them. I think he was initially just making them for the forum members, but has since set up a new business out of it.

they are only made out of 1mm sheet steel, that's a lot of money for something you could make yourself with some rivets a jigsaw and a folder improvised outta some angle iron

might be more cost effective if they offered them without the galv - nice to have but does a box intended for use inside really need to be galvanized ?

bit thin, thicker gauge metal would be an advantage

yep, biscuits come in stronger tins

i got mine of lruk forum..

fit perfect and are very strong

now if it was powder coated 3mm plate and had multi point locks-would be good.
I was expecting van vault type of job, but custom defender fit.

if ya want a van vault type box then ya have to buy a van vault box

as a defender storage box which is exactly what they are they are perfect,cant find anything else that fits as well as this and serves its purpose as well as this

i think i'll stick wiv me old army ammo box it dunt look as nice as them ones tho but only cost me £3

I assume by your name that you're from Chesterfield. Dont suppose your going to the beer festival Saturday? Ill be going for the second year running.

Could always slap some 6x9s in them . But im with crooked on this , Ill stick to my Howitzer ammo box ( fits lovely in the floor space by the bulkhead )

mmm.. they look good, but at 85quid I rather buy some old ammo boxes, that's what I use anyway.
