Good evening everyone.
This may sound like a silly question but I am new to Defenders and would appreciate your help.
I have a 1988 300tdi 110 and it has the van style, back side panels... The solid sides without the windows..
The questions is, will any Defender side windows or glass panels fit if I did a straight swap? Are they all the same size and would I be able to use the side panels from a 90 for example? Or does it have to be from a similar age or vehicle?

Many thanks in advance
and kind regards.

There are various ways to do it. One is to fit whole side panels with window frames and windows in them. Another is to fit new windows using a rubber seal, and cutting holes in the alloy to do so.
Google is your friend for parts and companies that fit stuff.

Please note. Doing this will enable better visibility. It will not make your vehicle eligible to enter the London LEZ or similar zones, that is to do with what is on your V5 document, which cannot be changed.

Any age 110 panels will fit, as will most series 3 ones from a 109.
Panels from a 90 will be too short!

Thank you very much for that, I forgot to mention, it does still have 4 doors with the shorter rear loading bed... If that makes sense.

That puts a completely different complexion on it. It is a Station Wagon already, and should be registered as such.

If you want windows in the back body, just fit the ones that cut in with the rubber seals in that case. Be aware that doing this reduces security for loads carried in the back, as they are more visible.

Brilliant thanks very much for your advice, I ssume I can just buy the windows and then find someone who can cut and fit them? I will search the interweb and see what I can find. Thanks again.

No worries. That is exactly what you should do. Try Paddock, Craddock, etc, for the windows, then Google and ring around for someone local to fit them.

Thanks Rattle gun, they do look. Awesome. My paint is horrible so am look to have a respray, might go for gloss black, so those will look brilliant.
Thanks again, great website.... Dangerous though lol
