Folks

I have approached a few bodywork garages near Belfast (NI) with a view to getting a limited or a full respray of my 1998 90 300 TDi hardtop (rust on bulkhead around vents, corrosion to rear - the usual). Frankly none of them really want to know... It's just getting tired and needs a revamp!

Land Rovers over here appear to be a hassle if not a modern car easy to work on! Even a guy provided by my local Landy specialist grunted and groaned... Who's paying?? - eh me!!!!

Do any of my local Landyzone users know of anyone who may assist, are good, know Defenders and reasonable without totally putting my lights out financially? I'm fairly new to refurbs as had two good TD5's previously.

Any thoughts greatly appreciated...

Hey man,

Did you ever find a place to get your Defender resprayed here in NI? I am having a hard time as well! Any help would be much appreciated!

Since ya brought it up i just painted miy 1990, 90 by hand,

not quite finished yet to be honest but it looks damn smart so far compared to before so far tis cost me €57 for paint, €10 for rollers, €11 for sand paper and have yet to buy some laquer bout €15 i think.. not all that difficult only a few evenins work in it and I've half a litre left over to cover up scrathes etc.

mine was only suffering from slight surface rust on rear cross member though. no point painting over a bulkhead if it needs replacing!

Bailies auto refinishers in Newtownabbey are a suggestion and I have used Nigel Whann Accident Repair Centre in Ballymena.
Excellent work on 110 CSW,not cheap but well worth paying the extra for a 1st class job!!!
Haven't used Bailies but they were recommended to me by Trevor from LR Monthly.
Nigel Whann ARC was handier for me!
