Defender P.T.O n winch problems!!!

have a look at the pic on Photobucket then click the link on the right where it says IMG it should change to yellow and say copied. Once it does come back here right click ya mouse/pad. and select paste.

ok that is the top of the PTO gearbox, the threaded bar appears to be the end of the cable, it slides in and out freely, but to me the metal bracket should push / pull the steel pin (in centre of photo.....should these two things not be attached?,,,,steel rod/ pin is stuck fast

is there a threaded hole in the middle of the pin to put a bolt in and pull it forward, bolt it back together and isert a small pry bar to ease it forward

BAGGYJIM!!!!! WHAT A STAR!! Just had a go with the molies, now its free!!!! cable is snapped, and has disconnected!! just need new cable and a bolt, least i can drive the beast again!!!!!

Is that a hole in the end of the rod or just clean metal from a break?
 
Evening all. Reviving an old thread here but saves starting another. I'm removing the pto winch on my 110. Now I assume that by doing this I will be left with a big gaping hole in the transfer box. Is there a blank off kit that I need to purchase? If anybody else has done this and knows what I'll need to do I would appreciate the heads up before I start removing bits.

Also there will be a pto super winch and bumper up for grabs if anybody is interested. All working as it should and capable off pulling most houses down!!! Bit crusty cosmetically but all working. Only removing as its far more than I need and weighs a fair bit. I'll just throw an electric one on for the odd recovery but I barely use it an seems daft carrying all that weight around for no reason.

Blank plates are either cast alloy or pressed tin, my 90 was tin all the disco ones I have seen were cast
FTC2061 or FTC 3178
 
Me and my brother lifted bumper and winch away a small one and it was a bloody struggle between the two of us. Then plus the weight of the pto unit. It is a lot of weight for something that gets used once in a blue moon.

So is that all I need, a simple plate and gasket will just bolt in place of the unit? Cheers for help btw.
