Defender MOT fail - No airbag

Good morning all, I was wondering if anyone could help. My 2010 defender failed the MOT because no airbag is fitted, I explained that landrover never fitted airbags on the defender, but they want an official document from landrover on the original spec of the vehicle. Has anyone had the same issue and how have you got around it.
 
Hi Steve, they’re having none of it, I’ve even called a local specialist who deals in landrover repairs, they said the MOT garage can call them, but that’s still not good enough. Now talking with a landrover dealer who is trying to get me something, but never got back to me yesterday.

Worth popping over to the defender section for a better response as this is for Hello.
For my ten pence worth, do you have any service history dealing with steering wheel replacement. If the mot say for your registered model have a airbags then either the steering wheel was replaced for a standard model. Or the original with airbag disengaged.

Easiest option would be take it somewhere else tbh:).
The dealer should be able to get a build sheet from your VIN, cant remember if it would show airbags cos as they were never fitted it just wont mention them;).
You could always point out to him there is no "airbag" check light when ignition is turned on;).

Yes that is an option but I’ve paid the money for the MOT to be done correctly, they should never have failed it. I was going to take it down and ask them to show me where the airbag light is, but I don’t think they’ll back down now.

Not suggesting it's a route you take but I'm sure VOSA would love to know what's going on, i wonder what else they don't know or are doing wrong? Is the tester a new guy?
 
Just seen you're in Shropshire, not the same guy i used who passed a car and missed the fist sized rust hole in the front suspension sub frame i hope
