defender master clutch repair kit

Hi,
I recently had some issues with my clutch on my defender td5; I wanted to first try the rebuild kit with the seals but unable to get the plunger and seals out of the master cylinder. I assume there is a specials way of doing this? I have already tried and removed the circlip but the plunger and seals are simply not coming out!

If you're trying to do what I think you're trying to do, use a screwdriver to sharply push the piston down and release sharply. Do that quickly and it'll come free.

Either that or bang the open end of the piston against a piece of wood. The shock usually forces it out.

Thanks for the replies, will try to do the above suggested. I assume the rebuild plunger is thus only held in place by the circlip at the end?
