Hi,
i am driving a 06-Defender 90 without a real heating system (I only have the almost-never-working-especially-when-cold-heater with the "buttons" located next to steering wheel).

I know about pre-heating system (i.e webasto etc), but I was hoping to find a system that I can also use during the driving.
If there is no such system, then maybe another way to keep the car warm etc?!?
I live in Switzerland and driving a car that's colder than the outside is kind of a stress to me and my dogs.:(

Thx to anyone with some advice!

T.

Hi there, I share the same problem with the heating. Just wondered if you have sorted it out? And any advise. Cheers.

Thx! Do you have any experience with them?

I have an old D1L (ebay) which I have been using for a few years and have used in a variety of vans, they are very good. They take about 3 minutes to fire up (self-tests etc.) but once they are going, you & your dogs will be as snug as bugs in a rug.

Hello,

I've just bought myself a Webasto Air top 2000 st.
Ranges from 900w to 2kw and will be just used for cabin heating.
Eberspacher or Mikuni do their own equivalent versions but after much research the Webasto model seems favourite for me.
I've also bought a Kenlowe 240V pre heater to get the engine up to temperature before driving off in the mornings. I've chosen not to have the dual purpose water heated versions by heating engine and cabin at the same time and cured two problems separately.

I use an oil filled radiator under engine overnight in the garage, cheap & effective to help the engine start on a cold morning.

As for interior, a bigger coat until I whip the wing off to have a good look at it all.

What is the average price for a eberspacher D2 system? Used perhaps...
I see that nothign goes below 300 for a (good conditions) used system.

Jon

I got my D1 off Ebay for about £150 if I remember correctly, but it does depend on the time of year you are bidding.
