Hi one and all

A quick question, i have a 110 200 tdi 1994 defender and have fitted britpart heavy duty springs and omg shocks to the beast, i have also fittted the uprated spring retention clamps from paddocks. The problem i have now is that the spring are slightly bent forward and are only sitting on the front of the turret. Does anyone else have this problem or is it just me? a friend of mine said i should take the retainers of and most defenders dont have them on.

Cheers Adam

These are the bloody things, think i am going to take them off and bin the buggers.

i had the yellow britpart springs fitted up on the front only to level my 300 up . but i used standard mounts and gas shox. looks alot better.

had same problem (in fact still do) and have the same retainers.

I'd supposed it's beacuse my body is still missing and haven't tightened up all my new bushes - but that retention thing would make sense. A mate told me last week that the hd ones shouldn't be fully tightened, so guess he was right.

They look a bit fancy!
The retainers I got were just straight lengths, I've not had any problems with them on my HD springs.

I'm having a similar problem, but mine aren't H/D springs, I've fitte a 2 inch lift kit and it seems that the whole axle is to far forward as the damper in fouling on the suspension turret. I've tightened the big nut on the end of the radius arm up as much as i could but it still hasn't helped, Ive also fitted a polybush kit and new tubular suspension turets from paddocks and i'm using the same retainer as big ad but i don't see what that would have to do with the damper. Any help would be great.

Cheers Dan
