Defender doors wont shut when cold

Hi all,
The doors on my Defender 90 (2002) won't shut when its cold. Is this a feature or is there a fix anyone knows of. I have lubricated the locks, adjusted the post on the door pillar all to no effect.

The only way to get them shut is to use a hand on the top of the door as well as the handle and push like hell when closing. In the end it will break the door. When it's above about 3 degrees C or after the interior has well and truely heated up they shut no problem at all.

Worse thing is it's damn draughty driving with the door half shut. Brrr

Probably frozen seals stiffening up, try massaging all your rubber bits with some Vaseline and it should feel a lot better.

Then when you're done doing that put some on the door seals as well to solve your door closing problem.

I tried silly-cone lubricant on the seals already... But much more important you made me laugh out loud

Maybe there is water inside the rubber seals - in the core as it were. Perhaps take them off hang em on a radiator for a day and then put more silly-cone on them.

This place is like going down the pub used to be, love it.

That's a far too sensible answer, sounds like it might actually work

Other than cleaning and drying out your seals then making sure they're lubricated properly along with your hinges I can't think of owt else. Hope ya get it sorted matey
