Hi,

I've bought repair sections so I can get started on fixing my doors up however I have encountered a slight issue. The bottom frame on both the doors have completely disintegrated so i have nothing to measure from to ensure the bottom rail is welded back in place. I was hoping someone could point me in the direction of the correct dimensions so i don't end up guessing and cocking up!

Thanks a lot,

Jasper

Hi Jasper
I am right in the middle of doing this repair myself. I cut my repair sections at 860mm on the longest side of a 45o mitre. Not sure if they are all identical, but should be close enough.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for that, the main issue i have though is the vertical sides also need about 4 inches of repair. Also the bottom hinge holes are non existent so i need to put those in too. I've attaches a drawing that may explain my situation a bit better. thanks

I have the door cards off my doors so I can measure for you but can you look at your drawing again?
Is it a front door or a rear, if its is front the angled portion is forward facing so the hinge holes you have drawn are in the wrong edge on the drawing.
Please check your drawing and I will measure for you.
Also the hinge hole positions are best determined from the other hinge holes you have in the door I will give you this dimension as well as what you are asking for from the extreme of the door.

Ahah oops I was drawing from memory, you're right, the hinges should be on the other side. Its the front door. I'd measure my self but both doors are the same with the bottom rails and part of the verticals rusted away so I have not base line to measure to if that makes sense.
Thank you

The distance between the horizontal bracing is 20.5 ins (this is internal mesurment of the bracing not the extream).
The hinge positions if you mesure from the top hole of the top hinge to the top hole of the lower hinge it is 19.5 ins.
Top hole of the top hinge to the bottom hole of the lower hinge it is 21.5 ins. This makes the centres for each hinge at 2 ins.
Any more sizes just ask.
