Ok so I've had an issue with the brake light. The driver side works most of the time, however passengers side doesn't....New light fitting, New bulbs......ive noticed when I put hazard light s on the trailer sign on the dashboard flashes. The rear lights work when headlight are on.
I'm thinking an earth ing issue but no idea how to trace it or where to start.....

Help as I'm a novice with electrics!!

The tail lights and brake light bulbs share the same earth.so earth is ok.
You have no or poor voltage somewhere between the two rear lights. If you look at the wiring by removing the internal covers you will see where the wires split off and run along the top of the rear cross member from the drivers side to the passenger side.
Check the connections in those areas or broken wires.
