Hi,
I've been looking for a set of decent alloys for my TD5 hard top but am a bit confused as to what will fit.

Ebay often have a 'choose your vehicle' option on some ads but I'm getting conflicting results, is there an easy way to work out what will and what won't fit?

Thanks
Brian.

any defender or discovery1 or rr classic alloys will fit

the offsets are different so depends what you want them to do

i have "firestyle" disco 1 alloys ( 300tdi) with road tyres and "boost" ( def td5) with insa turbos

Thanks, I've been looking at the Boost wheels but they're not cheap are they! Considering the copies but not sure about them...

Not quite "Any" There are some alloys where the centre cap won't fit over the flange and the wheel won't sit on the hub correctly.

Obviously this dosent apply to the OP in his case with boosts, more for anyone else who reads this.

We've got 6 boost alloys that we are taking to the LandyZone 100 Anniversary bash to sell, with new or used alloy wheel nuts.

Where are you located?

which wheels are these? I belived TD5 could take any kind of wheel?
I know the early defenders couldent but I have not failed to fit any kind of wheel to mine

£180 was a bargain, I'll give you £190 for them :)

Located in Burnley so at least 2.5 hours each way, wouldn't be too bad but we are at the Harrogate event the week after then the IoM 2 weeks after that for the TT races. The wife is going to go nuts...

i knew you'd ask that

I think there are some disco alloys that have solid centres that don't go over the one piece flange/halfshaft.

Listerdiesel, how much are you looking at for the wheels and do you have any photos?

Thanks
Brian.

Here you go, 7J X 16, made in South Africa of all places.

We have the centres for all of them, they do clean up OK as you can see.

Will be bringing them to LZ10 if you want to see before you buy, got a couple of decent D2 alloys as well.

We wouldn't normally have these, but SWMBO and me both bid on some alloys for No1 Son's 110 CSW (which will be at the LZ10 do) and we both bought a set, not knowing the other had done the same thing. Bit embarassing to say the least.

Thanks for the photos, are they the genuine Land Rover Boost alloys or copies?

Cheers
Brian.

There's one I noticed that is UK produced, ANR3631, and the SA wheels are identical on their face to that one, the 'Land Rover' text, the DOT approval etc etc. I'd guess LR outsourced the wheels, possibly too expensive to make in the UK, and Aluminium is cheap in SA.

Like I said earlier, have a look at them if you're coming to Stanford Hall on the weekend.

No problem at all, I did notice that the SA wheels had a 925kg rating against the UK wheel's 850kg.

Mechanically they look as though they have come out of the same mould, although the casting numbers on the back are different, the outer face is identical.
