Defender alarm arming procedure

If its honking at you it means "mislock" which means the 10AS alarm unit is "seeing" a door or the bonnet as open.

Usually its the lil pressure switch on the A or B pillar, the contacts on the back often fail. Theres also one under the bonnet (left of the airbox on a td5)

It shouldnt honk when you unlock regardless, odd if it does!

Hi all, i have what i think is the standard defender alarm and immobiliser. However i am not sure how it works.

So my question is - is it armed when i press the button and i get the two horn honks? (seems a bit odd). If not how DO i arm it?

ok, so to disarm it is the left switch? Just once? As it is still going of having pressed left button, unlocked and tried to start the car. Sorry if I am being incredibly dense here.
