Ive got a 110csw, but i know very little about 90s.

The 110csw has more doors, an additional cross member, and LEZ exemption. That's probably about it?
Oh - windows in the back, and a bit more sagging stuff on the roof.

So, what's the deal with 90s? From my (very) brief reading, it seems that you can buy any 90, and the rear seats just mount on the wheel aches. And i guess windows in the back - is that it?

Basically, at some point, we may swap the other half's disco for a 90, so im wondering what i should be looking for, as she will want seats in the back.

(ill be buying a vehicle with 'issues' and going from there, so it does not need seats when its purchased - just the ability to fit them)

As far as I can tell, on older models anyway, is csw had centre cubby, carpets, radio, cloth seats, rear wash, hrw as standard. There may be more.

thank you -

hrw?

either way, the list does not sound like anything worth paying extra for - so, in conclusion, just get a 300tdi 90, and work out the rest thereafter.

The basic conversation goes something like -

"when you get the 110 back on the road, you can carry around all your cr@p in that, and i can have a clean car"

I then have to explain that a smart 90 will either take time, or, by chance, finding a winning lottery ticket (finding, as ive never purchased one).

Station Wagon refers to rear seats & side windows

County Refers to spec (Higher)

Heated front and rear windows. (handy to have)
Sunroof
Alpine Windows
Cloth Seats
Carpet
Full Length Roof Liner
Cubby Box

Mine is a CSW out of the factory ( know that as it was investigated due to LEZ anomaly and inaccurate V5).

It has no heated any Windows
No cubby box
Has the rest of the stuff.

In reply to the bit about LEZ exempt - only 110s leaving the factory with original station wagon specification are exempt. If it left the production line as a commercial van but then got added Windows and seats before it was sold on to a customer it will remain a commercial light utility and therefore not be exempt for LEZ charge

Like every other car the spec can change over time. I think you could also choose between options. eg some folk chose a cubby box and others the centre seat. Mine has a heated rear window. Earlier ones possibly didn't. Later ones (I'd guess when Ford were involved between 2000 and 2008) the CSW may have had a front heated screen.
It is not easy to get the bits to fit seats in the back of a hard top. There are a few window options out there.

My old 110 csw 1988 had all the mod cons
Mouldy carpets due leaks
Rot due to leaks
Pain in the arse rear heater that more silver paste to heat a fart.
Rattling side windows.
Wet Knee syndrome from the channels
Front heater that could freeze a man to death near wintertime.
Four wheels and the fifth needing bracing on the back.
Forget issues about condensation think greenhouse effect when driving.
But most of I love it to bits being a 3.5v8 burbler that gave me my first speeding ticket:p:p:p:)

Make sure the it a CSW not SW or a commercial masking as a SW. if you have seat I am not to sure when the law change for seating position. A sideseating are banned now due to H+S. Also they would be classed as Modification in insurance terms. Early models Commercials and SW had rear window heater as an option according to the parts manual as with the rear wiper too. If buying the Ninety CSW watch out for bends as it feels top-heavy going around corners, so a punt on buying stronger Antiroll bars. hope this helps a little:rolleyes:
