Hi All,

Having some issues with starting my 90. It was last started on Saturday, with no issues.

Tonight, I warmed the engine for about 25 seconds as it's not too cold. Then turn the key further and there is just a clicking sound with the Oil light & battery light and parking break light flashing.

A few times it almost turned over, but just went back to clicking. I need the car for Friday eve as I have a charity event I'm helping out with.

Any advice needed ASAP!!

Yep, flat battery.

25-Seconds is a lot even for a NA D in the coldest of winters, in the current almost mild weather I would say that 15-seconds was more than ample. When you have charged the battery, if it doesn't start with less pre-heat or is rough then it would suggest that at least one glow-plug is U/S.

My batt was flat last week. I've since put some insulation in there to try and keep the chill off. I think the glows suck a fair bit of juice too so I go for 15 secs, but mines just been rebuilt do I know it has the compression to cope. The dreaded clicking noise is frustrating as hell!

Mine is rough on starting when temp is 0 or lower for first minute but quickly warms up and settles. Loads of smoke out back but again disappeared once warm.
