Hi All,
I'm replacing my dipstick tube on my 1993 Defender 110 CSW as the current one detaches every time i pull out the dipstick. I got an MOT advisory so thought id replace it.
I have cleaned up the area around the screw fitting for the dipstick tube and have received my Britpart ERC8980 Dipstic Tube. When I try and screw the tube fully home I am left with a gap f several millimeters between the engine block and teh collar off the Dipstick retaining nut. There was no gasket/oring that came with the tube as i suspect this would melt given engine temps.
Is it normal for the tube not to screw fully home or should i just up the power on cranking it in with my spanner?
