Hello, I'm new to the forum... and in advance, thanks for any advice you may be able to give me on my landrover clutch issues...

I have a 1985 110 tipper with a clutch servo. It goes into gear fine, but if i keep the clutch down for more than 3 or 4 seconds, it starts to engage and drive off... with the clutch down! ... which can be rather awkward when reversing in parking spaces/ in slow moving traffic... It's had me panicking once or twice! It is especially bad in reverse, and you have to double clutch it to put it in and out of reverse... it's like the clutch is only effective for a few seconds...
Any ideas what could be wrong? Is it a servo issue?
Thanks, Ben

Check in order..
Clutch fluid level
Leaks from master cylinder
Leaks from slave cylinder.
Leaks from pipes to/from master cylinder/servo/slave.

Master cylinder leaks usually show up inside the cab. Get a torch and look up above the pedal for wetness.

The servo simply uses vacuum to assist in pressing the pedal so not much effort is needed as opposed to a non servo clutch set up. If fluid level is the same, I would try bleeding from the slave cylinder first then try it again. A very easy job to do. Report back if you can.

Thanks for the advice... I'll try bleeding the slave cylinder once i've got some more fluid tomorrow... and see if that works....cheers,
