Hi new member joined today.
I Have a 1995 defender 110 300tdi that either need a new chassis or repairs.
Problem i have is that it is a special vehicles division defender with a heavy duty chassis, class 7 mot time.
Would i be able to fit a standard chassis or does anyone make a HD chassis. any answers welcome.
Regards Baldee

Hi Steve24v thanks for the reply
It's had a new rear quarter and the fronts ok it's the middle that's rotten mostly on the drivers side I'll try and post some pics.
Been quoted £2000 for repairs, I think a bespoke chassis would be to expensive for the age and mileage, on the plus side its got 4 new bfg's, PTO winch, snorkel.
New clutch and cam belt, I did those,

I wouldn't know what the difference is between HD and standard chassis, is it just thicker material used? If so I think maer chassis do thicker than standard chassis for not much more than you've been quoted

OK thanks I'll have a look.

Found this, they make it out of 3mm so it's thicker than standard, but not sure if the factory HD chassis had extra reinforcement in places (such as spring mounts for example). Being land rover I doubt they did much any different, lol
