Hi all, My 07 sport is running well , great through the gears and smooth but ....at exactly 1500 revs there is the only way of describing it as a deep groan . I have only had it 3 weeks , what I have noticed is it’s fast, acceleration based on what I have read in comparison to others seems so good unless I’m an old fart and not used to it , but you do have to hang on !! I’m wondering if it’s been chipped and the noise is linked. May have nothing to do with it at all and I’m not used to it. It’s a 2.7 , what else could it be at exactly 1500 rpm , returns 26.4 mpg so may not be chipped....cheers in advance .

Turbo lag?
Most turbos don't kick off until around the 1800 rpm mark. Turbo dependant of course...
Most chipped vehicles will return a slightly better MPG, but... Model depending and right foot depending also..
