Decent Seats for a 110 Defender

I have just measured the rails on the A1 seat rails and they are centred on 47cm whereas the existing seat rail bolts are centred on 44cm so it shouldnt be too dificult to adjust the mountings to give me that 1.5cm extra each side.
They are nice and compact so they should go in OK
I'll post some updates

l'm telling you, you can do a lot worse than fit Puma cloth (or part leather) seats

Sure l paid £700 for new "take off" but you can get them second hand and you can always fit new bases if they are past their best, less than £50 on Ebay

Do the Audi seats have removeable bases?

Or are you fitting an Anderson?

Personally, I fitted 1" seat rails, and changed the foams and coverings for a BP kit. Seats are comfy.

Cheers

The (main) reason I like the Audi seats is that they come out of a 3-door so they flip forward and slide a long way forwards - I need to play with the layout but I think I'll be able to access under the seats [relatively] easy.
The other reason is because they have a really simple flat rail system so fitting them should be quite straight forward - I could potentially fit a flip up base
The shape of them is pretty much as stated in other posts - a bit of support on the love handles but a fairly flat base.
Obviously I'll need to trial and error a bit
To jump start I have a military slave cable connector (the circular one) so I may need to undo 4 bolts to change the battery but should be able to get in there OK for routine access

I still like the idea of Puma/RX8 seats but want to see what the Audi ones give me now I got them
@lightning - Are the Puma seats on the same centres (about 44cm) or do they neet a bracket making up for pre-puma?

These are the seats I got (headrest removed) the marks oon the leather are just where they rested on each other - they look almost new
This picture gives the impression the side of seat base bolster is bigger than it actually is

The Puma seats fit straight into a TD5

But good ones are expensive. However they are well designed and comfortable even after many hours at the wheel.

Also you don't seem to get a sweaty back with them.

A lot of Defender parts work better than you think, it's when you properly put a Defender to work, rather than use it like a car, that the design and practicality begins to show through.

What's seat rail pitch?

The angle of the seat can be adjusted with spacers if necessary

What l did find was, that with the Puma seats l didn't need seat risers where l
had them on the TD5 seats.

Mainly because the Puma seat bases are less squishy

That is not a standard 110 seat box. What spec is your vehicle? I fitted Disco 1 seats in mine front and rear station wagon.
