After replacing tyres, all ball joints, steering damper on my 200tdi I’ve suddenly got a death wobble at 60-65mph when I hit a bump. Scared the cr@p out of me first time! When I drop to 55 it stops.

Searched forum and there are many causes! Checked wheel bearings which are fine, tyres are new (could need balancing again?) but I’m wondering if it’s swivels as this seems to be likely cause.

Thinking about doing swivels, and possibly polybushing everything in sight (panhard rods especially).

Also does this look like a good buy? Fairly local to me, bought dog guard from same fella recently...?

Look very closely at your panhard rod bushes, slight play= scary stuff.
I nearly crashed my 110 and there was hardly any play in them really, just gone soft, cheap britpart ones from my indy.
Luckily my wobble came on at 31 mph on a wide road.

+1 panard rod.
Pro flex are good.
I do carry a spare britpart panard rod bush kit(Ionly reason if I have to give it away I don’t mind)
Also check steering drop arm nut

When I first got my 90 the drop arm nut was so loose it jumped a spline, made me jump!

Ordered panhard rod bushes. Going to start with easier things first, although I have suspicions it’s swivels.

Drop arm nut is tight, that was loose a while ago so I did it then. Hammered 2 flats of locknut over it to stop it loosening, seems to have done the job.

Needs 2 people...
With the engine off get them to wobble/shake steering wheel(left/right left)just so the drive wheels move a bit You will see the panard movement.
Sometimes if bad The chassis moves & axles stops still ;)
