Is that a forum rule then:confused:? I’m also a senior member/contributor on another, large forum so I understand forum protocol! I didn’t see the point in leaving the thread open as it was down to a totally “blonde” moment on my behalf :confused2:.

But, for the record, I totally missed the bleedin obvious & it was nothing more than a faulty earth lead on the body terminal. Moral is it always pays to walk away & have a tea break when you can’t see the wood for the trees; it was a schoolboy mistake really, the short circuit when dissing the battery just made me panic as I feared thought I'd fried the ECU.

Sorry if I put your senior contributor nose out Vissie!;)

In fairness to Vissie, I too wondered what it was that caused you problems initially, but all is explained now.......... ;)
