Hello - the other day my power windows, mirrors and sunroof all stopped operating - in fact everything on the cubby box console. I have a set of manuals on CD and have done a fair bit of perusing but can't find a answer that works .. .. has anyone got any ideas? Just had a new engine and trans oil cooler so cant afford more trips to the garages for a bit. Thanks for any advice>> Jim MCDonald:(

remove the cubby switch panel and check the connector hasn,t come off,it,s only a few posi drive screws to get into it,if it is connected it could be the switch panel itself at fault,or maybe a fuse or relay;)

Thanks Andy I'll try that - I'd thought is wasn't that because the lights work on the panel, but you never know. The workshop manual shows the circuits have differen fuses and relays and it would mean more than 1 has gone.. big puzzle.

Very common fault, the switch panel itself is shagged, replace with a new one or get one from a breakers that you know works. Might be good to avoid eBay for something like this as people tend to put their broken ones on there.

if its any of the tracks on the circuit board you can repair them by bridging with wire, if its all of the functions then i would say its a common ground/power fault.

have a go at repairing it first as youve nothing to loose!!!

britishparts.co.uk are crap for customer care, no wait, they are ****ing useless see my thread.

I have the same problem, it started after I had been away for a month & the battery was flat on return. Charged up and restarted without centre switches although they do light up with the headlamps. Left it another week as used the other car. Battery went flat again as I didn't charge it fully the first time. Restarted it and now I have the drivers door open warning aswell, which means I cannot raise it off the ground.
I'd like to know your solution if you have found it, although I assume that mine is a failing BECM, unless any one has a better idea.

I think you will find you just have a dead window switch pack and a drivers door lock/latch that is on its way out, well, the microswitch that lets the vehicle know when the door is open is dying at the very least. People seem quick to blame the BeCM these days

Wills - Thanks for that brilliant advice! I got a new part from a local (Harwoods) cheaper than Rimmers, took about 1min. 30 secs to change it, and all is now AOK. Well pleased.
