Fitted a decat to the FL1 L series diesel last night.

The cat was very clogged up and looked like it was going to snap anyway so, £30 well spent.

Seems a bit peppier today on the drive into work,

Bodged a hole in the exhaust whilst I was at it. Quietened things down a wee bit.

I've still got the cat which I can whack back in. Runs better though!

I might just weld an old cat shell around it.

Good idea if it looks like a cat sounds like a cat smells like a cat it must be a cat......they will never know....

Could be a forum group buy...de-cat stealth. ...guaranteed to pass mot.

well "technically" as they are not allowed to remove anything, and as the cat makes no difference to it..

cant i just say its a "sports high performance cat" ? less restrictive?

Why bother. Ether get a good cat and knock the innards out or weld your casing over the de-cat pipe. The Mot tester should be non the wiser. The cat on a diesel isn't part of the Mot .

yeah i now, its just more work to do isnt it.

Im feeling lazy is all :)

anyway, this old l series engine seems to have responded quite well to it. Next is a really good service, cambelt, boost increase and digimafam.
