the 90 , then the wife, or make it intresting ,and do both at the same time.
Umm, can you recommend if there is any one single lube to use, or do I need at least two, and barrier cream too?

Are nitrile gloves the best for both?
Or do they need a wash after?

sorry for the late response. Had to do some holiday stuff with wife (in the sun too - we went for a walk, sorry to dissapoint all the other readers, whatever they were thinking??), then just turned computer back on.
Rang the garage this am about 09:30, they said "ah, we been overran over the weekend, get back to you this pm".
They did at about 16:00 with a reasonable ( I thought at the time) "you can have it back tomorrow at noon for £83 for the shaft which will arrive tomorrow am and £70 for the labour" .
So once more thanks for the offer and help.
..and I would have suggested to the recovery man barbican, but would he have listened?? as I am sure they have their drop off's sorted.

That price is OK for the shaft, provided it's GKN not Britpart.
£70 is a bit steep to fit it though - should only take 30min max with a lift and air tools.
Not quite steep enough to justify towing it 10 miles to another garage though I suppose.
