Hi,
Just bought a defender 110 hardtop and now just tryin to fix a few probs with it.
Found the one night when i went to go for drive the dash lights were not working.
All other lights work except you cant see what speed you doing at night:eek: .
Could this just be a blown fuse? Or bulbs?

Any help would be great.

Thanks
John.

little ones :D the dash is only a few screws and then it pulls forward. reach in and take out the bulb, get a replacement from an auto place (pref not halfrauds), put it in, do up the screws and bish bash dash. its done :)

w5 rings a bell, but i wouldnt buy one cos its prob for the wrong place! although a W5 will fit somewhere on a defender because its all ive ever owned!

Probably the switch has gone. Mine has to be switched on and off a few times before it works. Not paying 30 quid for a new one!

Yes there is! At least there is in almost every one i've been in.

They should come on with the sidelights, but the switch to the right of the steering column, where your rightr knee sits, far right hand switch, has 3 positions.

Top: Dash lights on with sidelights
Middle: Off
Bottom: Interior light on

Try flicking that :)

I have that switch but i would i thought they should come on when turn lights on. Il give it a flick and see if that changes anything.

But the fact still remains that if your other lights on the temp and fuel are working then your speedo one is at fault. therefore unlikely to be the switch, unles the switch turns the dials on/off individually, like a freaking xmas tree

Wel tryed the switch there. All it seemed to do is turn the interior light on and off. So seems like it could be the bulbs in the dash.

Does it have 3 positions? Up is interior light, mid is off, bottom is dash lights, but only when the sidelights are lit. Unlikely to be ALL the dash lights as the units are individually and internally lit (lit in the loosest sense of the word!)
