dash says 14.5 MPG

is there a way of resetting/calibrating the MPG/average speed?

i did 280 miles on monday all M4 M5 clear run doing between 70 and 95 MPH
and dash says 14.5 MPG and average speed 44 MPH

i know the average speed was way out but going by fuel used i was doing a lot more than 14.5 MPG
also range was way out aswell

is this a known problem?
do i just ignore?

Is yours diesel/petrol/lpg?

When I bought mine I drove home on petrol and reset the computer once I hit the motorway, I got 18 mpg on that journey. Last weekend I did a long motorway run on LPG and the trip didn't get above 14 mpg. I didn't reset it before the second journey but expected it to go higher than that.

hi yes im only petrol
ill reset it later after ive done blend motor and see how it goes but im running around country lanes so wont realy see much difference till i do a run

The computer does not really know what is going on when you are on LPG, it's calcs still come from petrol injector timing. LPG will always give less MPG than petrol as it is a less efficient fuel.

Mine will read approx 21mpg on a steady motorway run but on LPG in reality i'm getting approx 17-18 MPG....which at the current 68.9 p/ltr at Morrisons isn't too bad.
