Cheers Guys for rapid response, as I mentioned 'Old Strawberry " my un-trusty P38 is in with Les @ Service Motors Bexleyheath, he's been keeping my old bangers roadworthy for about 15 years now and I wished I'd waited for him to check it out 1st but he's so busy and hard to get an appointment. He drove it last night and reported this morning that even though he didn't go over 50 ( traffic jam on the A2 ! ) so didn't experience wobble, he told me " This vehicle doesn't drive correctly and shouldn't be on the road until rectified " So I'll leave it with him , COR BLIMEY ! owning a P38 is a learning experience all right.... Learning NOT to rip yer bleedin' hair out ! GRRRRRRR!

Hah, Hah, Mate, I've got sync mates & eas kicker, just changed the rad, water pump, thermostat, hoses and almost god rid of air -lock overheat, alarm sensor was replaced but still comes up error message, thing is see, I love the shape and presence on the road and plus I've chucked too much money at it to stop now !

ok kidding.i had one as well, but sold it to someone on here.was a nice one as well.:D

Drove "Old Strawberry" home from Service motors today with a big grin on my face ! Les told me that the Death Wobble was a result of the front drivers side wheel being out of balance, even though I only bought these tyres and had them fitted 6 weeks ago at a garage recomended by ASDA , who I bought the tyres from online. He couldn't see on the test drive as it was dark but immediately suspected the culprit being a 90 gram weight on the wheel, that's almost the size of a full jar of coffee, had it balanced and guess what? it was 9O grams out !!! I tried in vain to get it to wobble and drove 17 miles home doing 55-60 hitting every bump I could see and nothing ! Eventually when I applied the brakes hard @ 60 it started death wobblin' which would suggest warped discs maybe or calipers sticking but this can be done next month as I'm skint now, for the present I can drive her around, going from Kent to weymouth today so a good test- Jack

Got the spec sheet back from Les for parts needed replacing, although they would pass an mot I've opted for replacement- front and rear shocks as these are the original ones and she's done 145 thousand on them, drag link ends, front discs and pads, Drove to and from Weymouth fine apart from aforementioned braking @ 60- 55. I'll try and ignore the whine coming from the tranmission until I can afford to investigate !

Well, she's still in the garage, and more things are surfacing- drivers side front hub assembly bearings shagged, how did the first garage miss it ?? At least she's with Les now and I am confident he can fix her J J
