The trailer socket is in in good condition. It is used regularly and is kept clean and oiled because of this so this should not the an issue. But if I still cannot find the problem I will try this.

The socket may be good, but what about the internal cores of the cable? Just another option to try.

I will check if the side repeaters and front earth does not yield anything. The loom is only a couple of years old and is heat shrink sealed at the end so I would hope it is still in good condition, but there is no guarantee.

@mick 1986 have a cookie. Seems to have been the side repeater, new bulb (and gluing the orange lense back on as happens every time I remove it!) and the problem seems to have been fixed.

Pleased it’s sorted for you. Not sure why I didn’t suggest it earlier in the thread though?

My celbrations my have been premature. Although it has definitely improved it is not completely solved and I had the same issue today. I will try and track down the front wing earth point as this is the only part now which has not been checked and cleaned/replaced.
