Damn EAS Fault!

Time, if there was someone close by who already had the gear maybe i won't have to wait until the new year to start getting things sorted. Can't see Ebayers being that enthusiastic re: posting anything out over the next couple of weeks....
 
If you can find an OBD2 connector anywhere, you can easily make the cable yourself.

Just download the software, open the first menu and click on cable creation. There you will find a 4-wired cable scheme.

Pretty easy and you are out of trouble.....

That is, if you can find the cause of the fault. Did your Range Rover level very slowly lately? If so, I am sure your EAS Pump must be revised (seal w/cylinder).

Al so check for leaky airbags, that is mainly the cause for the EAS Pump to wear out.

No, I was driving thorugh snow on high setting, EAS fault falsed up, the lights on the hight level button illuminated in sequence bottom to top several times then all lights stayed on. Now it's sat on it's bump stops, trys to raise read suspension every couple of seconds, rear raises may be a millimeter or 2 then drops back down. Couple of seconds later it will do the same thing.

Hope so! gonna sort it out in the new year, too much ice in the drive to be getting under it at the moment
 
get yourself a serial mouse, about 5 quid, get a seial to usb cable about 6 quid (unless your lappy has serial rs232 interface)

solder the wires to the wires at the back of the obd connector in the pass footwell.

this is what i did, follow the diag. below for which wires to connect, you will need to make sure the wires in the serial cable match, use a multimeter to work out the correct wires to pins or dismantle the connector and re solder it.

you can just stick the wires in the obd side but i put the wire in permanent so i always had it with me!!

What's the software called? Can it also be used for (re)setting the drive height, ie when you replace a ride height sensor?
 
Yep already tried that one and I read the big notice at the top of the page......
I am currently unable to fill any orders on this item. I am backordered on the parts needed to construct the quality cables that I usually sell. I expect to be able to reopen sales for this item early in December. Thank you for your understanding in this matter.

Now where can I get the OBDII plug from?

Any ideas....i'm getting close to thinking sod it and forking out for the stealer to diagnose it....some help really would be appriciated.

There should be at least one other cable supplier on there? last time I looked there were 3 different sellers listing em.
 
you can solder the wires to the relevant wires on the back of the obd socket in the car, just strip a bit of insulation off wrap wire around cars wire, solder it and tape it all back up. not the best way i suppose but atleast it will always be there.

i used the wire from a serial mouse, re soldered the rs232 plug to the correct wires/terminals and then to the car, you will need a serial to usb cable if you use that method. serial/usb cable is about 6 quid!

I googled OBDII connectors and found a supplier in Hong Kong 99p! plus £2.50 P&P:D
