Ladies and gentlemen, I'm not entirely sure what a wit is but I'm very much approaching the end of it!
I've an X reg discovery 2 v8 (thor engine) RHD which has developed a pretty irritating intermittent (even more irritating) fault. Crack her up, runs beautifully, sounds the tits, great stuff! However! After a length of time that only she decides.....it cuts out, instantly, no splutter, nothing! No it is not the crank sensor... there's no pattern or any amount of wire wiggling that will cause it to do or not do it so I went down the process of elimination route, I have changed for genuine or known good as follows.....
Crank sensor
Cam sensor
Maf sensor
Ambient air sensor
Coolant temp sensor
Engine bay fuse box
Interior fuse box
Ecu, bcu and ignition coil
Coil packs
Inertia switch
Fuel pump
Brand new 95Ah Varta battery
Throttle body
Idle control valve
Disarmed immobiliser
Now if I have my nanocom or solus plugged in at the time it faults it kicks me out suggesting power loss to the ecu.
I've tagged a bulb in to f1 and f12 in the engine bay to rule out fusebox issues and neither of them flicker when she dies.
Have I missed anything? Is there any electrical fault areas I could check? I've checked and cleaned multi plugs in passenger side footwell mind
Any help would be very much appreciated as I fear she may soon have a date with Billy blue nose and the local scrappy!
Thanks in advance, Ash
