d2 td5 auto box problem

hi guys
having problems with the auto box,
so I split the oil cooler pipe and lost a lot of atf replaced the pipe and filled with about 6.5l of atf
now I have drive but only gears 3rd and 4th and reverse no 1st or 2nd so has no power pulling away and struggles up hills
any help with be amazing

Did you fill the sump then run the engine and shift through all gears, switch off and refill sump again??
That is broadly speaking the procedure I believe.. worked for me.

not quite engine has to be running whilst its filled and level checked

And shifted throught all gears as I understand it, my level certianly dropped by 3 litres after shiftng enabling a further 3 litres to be added... that is the procedure I learnt.
