D2 M & S lights

Hi there, I've searched a few forums but am struggling to find out. Would flashing M & S lights, including D on the auto selector cause non starting?
I've just put a new battery on and it's spinning over like a top but won't fire (td5)

Any help appreciated, Alan.

Yes it would, you need to read the fault code unless that D is not a crossed B cos then it's something else... anyway even if the battery is new measure the voltage on the battery while cranking cos if it drops below 10.5V it will hardly start
 
unsure .... but my D2 would occasionally throw MS lights while starting this puts the transmission into limp mode...turned out to be the XYC switch maybe I caught the issue before it got worse ...there is also a few occasions to this day ..my engine will just turn over ..I have to lock doors wait a bit then open then restart must reset the immobiliser of some sort
 
Re the ACE light.... mine occasionally came on after some “spirited” on-road driving... Amber (not red with chimes). Having checked for leaks etc, I took a punt on the pressure transducer on the block under the drivers side (this being a popular culprit) and I don’t have access to read diagnostics. Part was about £55, and I had to purchase a 27mm deep socket, swapped over and no more light. There are good write ups on this on the web.

Thanks Sierrafery, I'll check the voltage tonight. I don't have any test capability, what's the best fault code reader for the transmission as I understand that it's different from the other diagnostic kit?
