so guys, it seems quite common for the bulbs to go on the climate control units.
I had both temp adjusters out and also the bulb the illuminated the controls.
I thought great, got to get the head unit out, and other gubbins, but it's a 5 min job, also the bulbs can be purchased from maplin for £1.49 eacccchhhh http://www.maplin.co.uk/p/12v-096w-wire-ended-filament-type-wq13p
And a lot cheaper than this

At over £5 a pop!
Pop the coin tray & ash tray out, undo the 3 Phillips screws that are now exposed and this removed the whole cup holder unit.
This will give you enough room to get a finger or two in (cheeky
)
Press the clips in, and the unit pops out.
Undo the connectors at the rear to remove unit fully.
Undo the 2 screws on the rear of the CC unit, and this will expose the circuit board. Untwist the bulb holders, replace bulbs and then do it all in reverse.
Well worth it, no more guessing what button I'm pressing when it's dark!
