It is 52mm. The Haynes manual has a good exploded diagram.

If they need a tighten up then a 10 minute job, did mine at the weekend after my new ones settled.

yeah i am looking at tightening it up just to get it home then i can replace all wheel bearings to be on the safe side. forgot to ask before are both inner and outer wheel bearings the same as paddocks only show one p/n for the front wheel bearings.

i did my 200 wheel bearing a few months ago.. if youve done a wheel bearing before on anything theres no surprises waiting... caliper and brake pipe bracket needs unbolting and tying up to the spring but thats about all. i used a stilson pipe wrench on the hub nuts as me sockets only go to 50mm

yeah i went to drop my mate off at work today then i had a look at the problem and tried to see if i could tighten it up but as i nipped it up and tried to turn the hub it was solid release it and it was too loose so going to get a set of bearings on thursday ( bus drivers rest day ) so looks like it will be there a couple of days but idealy due to where it is could do with getting it shifted or fixed before then but ill see what he says tonight when i go and pic him up tonight.

there are some box keys with a piece of steel going across the back with a 1/2" square hole in but yeah the other ones where you put a bar through are bad enough, think a 52" x 3/4 drive socket and Tbar / ratchet is better and just keep checking for play whilst you are doing it probably ok if you have steel wheels on but a lot harder if you have alloys on.

When I tightened mine up this weekend I removed the first 52mm nut and washer then replaced the wheel.

Then I tightened up the nut while checking the play and spinning the wheel to make sure there was no noise and it ran free.

The nut needed about a half turn. Was easy this way.

Fitting new ones, you need to tighten up the nut first to settle the bearings then loosen and re tighten as above.

yeah looks like we are going to paddocks for the bits tomorrow then straight to his work to do the one side then i can do the other side in my garage at the weekend so will let you know how i go on.
