D1 300tdi Heater cutting out!

Hi all,

I have a 1998 Land Rover Disocvery 1 300tdi auto.

I have a problem with the heater. When I first got my truck 6 months ago the heater would randomly turn off about 10 mins into a drive turn the truck off and back on and the heater would come back to life for a while.

Now you turn the truck on and the heater will last forever if you don’t put it in drive and as soon as you set off it cuts off within about 3 seconds but if you turn it off and back on and stay idle it will last forever like normal!?

I can’t understand why it turns off when you set off. It works in all modes 1,2,3,4.

It has the recycle air mode and air con if that makes a difference.

Possibly an iffy earth connection, maybe in the engine bay or the one in each of the front foot wells.

Do you know exactly where the earths would be?

Check contact at E200/205 and header C2028 to not have corrosion in it or loose wires.

How exact do you want to be ? I do know the location of the main points as they are obvious enough within the engine bay and foot wells.
