CV joints replaced!

Hi all,

I finally got my CV joints done (if you read previous post). Not enough time or space to do myself so got a local mechanic here in North Devon to do it. one CV had collasped completely!

CVx2, all gaskets washers and greases x2 from Paddocks for 70 quid. Guy stripped the lot down, fitted all new stuff for 100 quid labour!!! Brilliant job....awesome price! I love living down here!!!

I reckon that equates to about £25 an hour - not particularly cheap for round here.

I think it took more than 4 hours? I contacted Devon 4x4 and they charge £40 an hour and will round up to the nearest hour!!! That seemed a bit expensive!!!

If I couldn't do it in under 4 hours, I'd eat me Landroverin cap!

I am just happy that is only cost me £100 quid. I spoke to a few other garages and they did the teeth sucking thing "could be 'spensive"!!!!

I know in future im driving across the border into Cornwall to Trew's place!!!
