[FONT=??¨¬?]Hello - my first post so be gentle - I need some advice on filling a 3 point belt to the front centre seat.

I have a 110 CSW which we use as a family car to cart our 4 kids + bikes + friends, the occasional sheep etc around the green lanes of Wiltshire.

Number 4 has been sitting in the front centre seat in a specially designed child seat for seats with lap belts, it attaches securely to the lap belt and give him a 5 point harness

The problem is we are feeding him too much and he is soon to grow out of his car seat. With just the lap belt he stands a good chance of headbutting the gearstick or the radio in the event of even a minor smash.

The two options that appear to be around are:

1) Fit a rally style bucket seat and put new seat belts in at 45 degree angle (probably from the base of the back seats)

Problem - can't find a seat narrow enough and can imagine older kids giving his seatbelts a tug.

2) Add a roll bar or some other steel work so I can attach a 3 point belt which sounds a bit costly.

Anyone else had any similar problems ? Any ideas gratefully received.

There was another thread about baby seats while we were on the temporary forum, sadly now deleted.

IIRC the chap found a lap and diagonal belt from Exmoor trim that would do the job without needing to be fixed above the seat - something to do with the bulkhead immediately behind the seats - I'd give 'em a bell if I were you ;)

Cheers,

Thanks, I had a long chat with Exmoor trim, they do the 3 point belt but only for the land rover hard top with the bulkhead. They told me that to fit one of these I had to get some steel work done or add a roll bar that would do the job as the seat belt has to be positioned above the seat.

Can anyone recommend a company that does simple roll bars, seen lots on the web but they are all full roll cages/external roll cages which look cool but probably a bit overkill for my purposes.

Thanks, that is what we are using at the moment in the back, problem is when they get to around 3 you have to take the back and harness off and just use the booster with the car's seat belts. I spent a long time looking for a child seat that fixed to a lap belt but had a harness, but they all only go up to around 3 years old.

I think I may have to sell one of the kids.
