hi everyone , just looking for a bit of advise as i dont know if ive done this right or not ,
my 1999 diesel freelander 2.0 had a horrible sounding rattle from the thrust bearing so me being me and trying to save a bit of cash went and bought myself a new 3 piece clutch from ebay ( probably not the best place to buy car parts i know)
anyways ive gone for the change and its took me 3 days to do it , ive put it all back together today and hey presto its quiet as a mouse
HOWEVER now im really struggling to change gears whilst driving it i have to put quite a lot of pressure on the gearstick to make it enter which leaves me coastting for a while before it will drop into any gear ,
reverse now crunches eveytime i change into it,i neveer has any problems before with any gear apart from reverse as it used to sometimes grind when i engaged it but now its worse !
i used an alignment tool and everything and worked methodically as i changed it.
on the slave cylinder theres a small rod which moves in and out and when i came to put it back together the rod seemed to be hanging out more than usual so ive just pushed it back in place ,
( dont know if this is anything to do with it but im trying to let you all know just exactly whats happened ,
any help would be extremely appreciated
also my biting point in as soon as the pdal moves a slight bit there isnt any play whatsoever i lift 1-2mm and im moving allready
