The front seal is slightly more involved than the rear since the rear can be forced out with a (in my case) gasket scraper...
The front seal, I drilled out using a 1.5mm drill bit, then screwing in a 2mm self tapping screw and pulling the seal out with a vice grip holding the screw and a rubber mallet to shock the seal off it's seat.
The face of the seal has a steel body behind the rubber which needs a drill bit to force a hole through before you can turn a self tapping screw into it.
The rubber somehow "glues" itself into the alloy and will not simply come off without some serious persuasion.
Once it's out and the new seal in, the engine will be happy once again
