It's weird though, ordered a load of brake parts off JGS recently, no problem, but they don't sell the flexis. Had to go to LR Direct for those. All Britpart.
odd considering the parts all come from the same few places and the wholesalers deliver next day ,even to me i must be their smallest account

Similar thing happened to me with LRDirect. Weeks and weeks ago, height of lockdown, ordered 2X front and rear brake pads. 2X fronts arrived but no rears. They wont answer the phone and don't reply to emails. Ironically, I got a follow up email from an employee called Wayne, asking if I was happy with my order. I think I'd already emailed them twice by then to say the rear pads hadn't arrived. I replied to Wayne and explained all of this, but he didn't reply. These companies are probably making a lot of money with most staff on furlough while still taking huge numbers of orders.

Ordered some S1 parts as they are the “trusted” suppliers. They sent 1/2 the order 1 week & followed this up 3 weeks later.
They don’t explain why which annoys me as the motor was stripped down as all parts in stock(as per website)
Lack of communication from all suppliers at the moment can be grim but not to reply to a mail when you can read these any where or time.

Guys, don't know if this will help, but...being relatively new to Defender ownership I have found a magical recipe when buying new parts; and I've bought A LOT since Christmas!

1. I check the component description/G number on LR Workshop diagrams, it's a first rate reference https://www.lrworkshop.com/diagrams
2. I click the component number and let the LR Workshop auto search facility work for me, this is usually straight onto eBay
3. if I think the price is too high, or it's a low quality component I cut & paste back to Google and then buy elsewhere

Over the past months with the 90 refurb' I've saved many £100's + I always check the delivery dates and never buy from Craddocks as they always deliver late. As example, this evening I've bought new swivel kits, HD axle flanges, all new bolts front and rear, and 60mm stud set [they're slightly pricey:( but I have a new set of Wolfies in the shed waiting to get dirty]. All bought through reputable suppliers with eBay shops...and it's all arriving by this coming Saturday ;)

ps using the lowest price + P&P filter can save a small fortune :)

Prompted by this thread I decided to contact LRDirect again today about an order I placed on 31st March! It was only two sets of front and two sets of rear brake pads. Anyway, as has been the case, since Covid19, I got the usual recorded message giving you options 1 for this, 2 for that etc. When you select a number it always says they can't deal with your call right now. So I emailed and I've had a response!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good Afternoon.
I am really sorry that nobody has been in contact. We always try and respond to customers within 2 hours, during working hours, or before 10am the next day if out of working hours.
I have passed this into our returns manager. He will e in contact soon.
Kind Regards

I responded...

Hooray, there's life at the other end :)
Many thanks, Cameron. I very much appreciate your response.
Kind regards,

Then, at 22.01 BST tonight I got this......

Hi,
I am really sorry we did not respond.
I do respond to all emails in my inbox event if some are delayed. So I do not know what has happened there.
I will reorder the missing parts and get these shipped to you tomorrow or Friday at the latest.
Again I am really sorry for the time this has taken to resolve

Interestingly, I called and emailed a few times way after the due date. Then I received an email from Wayne asking if I was satisfied with my order! I replied directly to him telling him only the front pads have arrived. He didn't respond.
Do you think they feel guilty about spouting blatant lies such as 'we always respond in 2hrs' or 'I always respond to all emails in my inbox'?

What should I say to Wayne? :D

I ordered some parts from LR Direct Tuesday night. After payment I noticed they'd charged me for delivery. Sent an email to cust services, email back at 9 this morning saying they'd look into it, nuther email at half ten apologising for the cock up and issuing a refund. Can't complain about that.

Pleased to hear that. I've used them for years with little hassle, until recently. Looks like they've returned to work. Can't understand why they can't say we're still selling stuff, but 98% of staff are on furlough so we're not dealing with mistakes, phone calls or emails!

just sent my Rockers to Turners Engineering for the the Exchange Service as the Rocker shaft was seriously worn out----
Amazing service - got it back after 2 days...

Well, after many phone calls that eventually went to answer phone and messages were left. Plus many emails, LRDirect have eventually sent my rear brake pads. Ordered on 31st March. Delivered 5th July. Better late than never :)

Well I emailed Craddocks demanding they cancel the order and refund me as I'll be out of the country. fitted the old waist seal, looks OK anyway.
Have yet to hear from them. Again!

It's a disgrace!
I can't understand the business policy these companies have adopted during the lockdown. You can only presume they've had everyone on furlough apart from a few staff still trying to get orders out the door, so they can still make money. Emails could be managed from someone's home though! The positive business reputation they could have gained by providing rapid communication with customers would be priceless to my mind. It seems that in order to save a few quid on staffing they're creating a bad reputation for themselves

Very true. Wouldn’t surprise me if craddocks went under way they behave and volume of bad reviews online here and elsewhere. When I set up on my own the old guy who I did my apprenticeship with said “look after your customers as people remember the bad experiences”

LRDirect have been fine, i ordered a load of seals for the transfer box and a flange recently and they came in the time frame specified.

never had an issue with paddocks

gave up on craddocks a few years ago after ordering G part numbers and just being sent the normal ****part offerings
