As soon as I get the engine back in mine and get the niggles sorted, I'll be looking to do as much laning as possible locally, it's been about 18 months!
 
Let's get it sorted then! Need some buying advice aswell, disco or defender? Doris doesn't want me ruining the range rover so as soon as I sell me BMW il be buying something to play properly in. I'm good any week end
 
Good stuff. Iv already got the comfort. I can tow it down the motorway then have a full tank to play with then tow it back. Petrol or doozil? Iv been told to get a v8 if I can find one? But are the doozils better with water? I imagine they are?
 
200/300 tdi defender I would say, depends how much you want to spend, if not much you could get a 2.5 NA or TD and drop a 200tdi in yourself (or run as is), or if you've got a bit more to spend, a 300tdi with R380 gearbox, seem to be regarded as more reliable than TD5.... 90 over 110 as well if its just for off roading...

Hardly any electrics on a diesel, so better offroading, get any of the ignition system too wet on a petrol and you're stuck.....

If you need a hand checking one over, gimme a shout, more than happy to be a second pair of eyes....especially as you're so local (I'm on the new estate behind Lidl)

Cheers mate, I don't recon I'm going to get my car sold this year though not really sports car selling time of year, and carnt do anything till thats gone. yea I was looking at 90s, I like the power and noise of the v8 though, but know the tdi would be better for offroad, which is all it would be doing
you got yours sorted yet? I fancy a day out

Mines almost there, by the end of this weekend it'll be running again! Have got a couple of things to do before it goes offroad but i'm itching for it as much as you are......me mate in Cov with the 110 is mid way through getting his 200tdi in as well and he's itching to get offroad as much as I am lol
 
Yeah, probably about time we did a trip. Not next sunday though as were doing the pay and play day in stratford.

How come you didnt sign up for that one 110?

Because it looked completely beyond my capabilities that's why :(, theres getting stuck, and then theres getting stuck :eek:

Is the Stratford event next week open to anyone ?
Also went school lane packington today. Completely closed now.
Also went up job lane Barton for a look around, has anyone done the lanes up there ?
