Hi all
I bought a W reg (2000) Freelander 1 petrol a month or so ago. I have already done a few things to it (replaced window regulator and an instrument panel bulb). Its running fine but I wanted to tidy up a couple of things on the vehicle. I do have a Haynes manual for the car and it doesnt seem to cover these bits and bobs, thought maybe you guys could help. 3 queries, namely;
Whilst at low speeds I can hear a relatively high pitched whirring noise. I dont think its major and is probably a timing belt. But I dont know where to start to diagnose the fault and fix it myself. Any pointers as to where to start?
Directly below the windscreen (on the exterior of the car, in-between the windscreen and bonnet) there are a few air inlets. There is a kind of sponge sitting just beneath the grate, looks as though its an early filter for bugs etc. Its degraded and I want to replace it. Any ideas on how I can get hold of this part or can I just cut something to size?
Either side of these air vents, at each corner of the bottom of the windscreen, there are black rubber spacers or bushes. They fill up the space between the body panels and bonnet. Again, they are quite degraded and brittle. Anybody have any idea as to what they are called and how I can get hold of replacements?
Thanks in advance for the information.
Adam
