Cost to change....have an educated guess!

You can buy an 09 for 20 k so assume he paid 60 ish and now will pay 70ish for a new one (low spec) its going to cost him 50grand which is about right they lose about a grand a month up to 4 yrs old then it levels - got the tshirt for that one on an xjr not quite the same but not far off so really a dealer will pay 10k ish because they dont want them

On a new Range rover depending on spec, you will lose around £10,000 as soon as you drive it out of the showroom in tax alone.
 
Not really...shortage of same.....drive it for a few months.......if right spec get your money back!

One slant on things, but generally it don't work like that. When you buy any new car it's value plummets by the amount of tax paid to the government instantly, as soon as you sign the sales agreement.
 
so before all the other running costs, a new RR is £12,500 + cost of capital (interest, or foregone interest) per year. That's eye watering!
Makes me feel quite sanguine about the costs of running my P38!
