Disco 2 coolant leak

Hi

I have a coolant leak, when the engine is hot I can see coolant dripping down the side of the engine coming from somewhere up behind the turbo, it drips and runs down the side of the block.. quite a bad drip, about 1 everyy 1-2 seconds.

Tomorrow I'll strip off the turbo heat shield and take a look, any ideas what's coolant related in that area ?

There is a pipe from the oil cooler that depending on the engine and age either connects to a steel pipe that runs behind the engine or is blanked with a rubber cap.

mine has been doing this for a while and I still didn't locate where it is coming from, Mine is flowing a little at the side of the engine behind the turbo as well.

Will have a look at that pipe now!! Thank Neilly.

Just checked, its the rubber blanking cap that's perished and dripping. Looks like 7/8 heater hose ? I'll try and make a temp repair until I can get the correct part.

You can get silicone blanks on ebay.

it is either 20mm or 18mm.

OK fixed it, used some 18mm silicone hose and a stainless blank plug, nice tight fit, worked a treat
