Hi everyone,
A while ago I replaced the front hoses with the ones containing the remote thermostat. I also removed the original thermostat and replaced it with the plate with the hole in it. However, ever since doing this I've had a coolant leak from the join between the thermostat housing and cylinder head. I took it back out and fitted a new "o" ring, but still it leaked. I've just had it in to the local (non-LR) garage and they fitted more new seals. The leak now isn't as bad, but it's still leaking.
Does anyone know why it would still leak after having new seals fitted? And other than taking it out again and trying yet another seal, does anyone have any other ideas as to what I can do to stop the leak (other than selling/scrapping the car)? BTW it's a 1.8 petrol.
