Coolant leak overflow

IMO that's too low so you might have a stuck open thermostat, the intercooler should not affect the engine temp soo much... woud be good to check the coolant temp input with a scanner to see the difference then you can have an ideea how to interpret that reading... a friend of mine fitted a sensor like that and the difference was only 6 to 8 degrees between the two so if that's valid your ECT should be around 78 which is not good as it's overfuelled a bit

btw, when your gauge shows 50 is the dash gauge at the middle?... if yes get a laser thermometer and point it to the head where the sensor is and compare readings cos that sensor might be faulty

O that's a little worrying. Normally travel about 15-20 mins to work so not massively long journeys, if I stop and turn the engine off once get back in and turn back on its normally up around the 70-80 mark but then goes down to about 55-65 when started to drive again.

I'd have to see if the local garage is able to plug it in to see about the coolant temp.

When I've done a longer drive it does go up to about 80-90.

I'll see if someone local to me has a laser temp sensor and give that a test to confirm if the sensor is working correctly

that's OK then... though watch the dash as much as you can on a longer drive when your gauge shows more than 50, the vehicle's gauge goes to the middle when it gets a 70*C input from the ECT sensor so if you pick the moment when it's rising from a quarter to half see your gauge's reading then you'll know the difference and starting from there you can calculate the coolant temp in mind

That's a good idea, I'll keep an eye on it tomorrow morning as got a little longer drive to the farm. Hopefully have a better idea once see it climb from quarter to half
