You are welcome!
I thought the bolts may be with threadlock already applied, but looking at pictures at various suppliers seem to show an ordinary flanged head bolt so I can't imagine what they are!
I hope you get it sorted.
Yet again, cheers, Mate!
I think they may need some gunk on em to stop leaks the sort of stuff you put around sump flanges etc,
I'll see when I get to it.
Someone else thinks it might simply be the coolant pump and seeing as how it is prolly 170K miles old, I think it will be retired again when I can get to it!!
Having read what
@discool said I am now even more nervous about those bolts. I have checked in Rave and Haynes and no one even mentions touching these bolts. You can get the water pump out without touching them, just have to remove the cover. ("just" after removing the centrifugal oil filter, the turbo and moving the Air Con pump!)
I also have no idea, particularly in France what to get that would be waterproof. Plumber's Mait?
At the moment I am not sure if it is leaking from the weep hole, the whole bastid thing is so difficult to get to and even with mirrors etc I cannot see it. The best I could do would be to try and feel it but that would have to be with the engine running and everything, tight hot and vibrating around it. The bolts don't look any different but maybe they are.
When I did the job on my D1 300tdi there was none of this stuff, just the famous P gasket which really wasn't a problem, and I only changed the pump because I had removed the old one to cure the leak. Maybe
@discool you were talking about your V8?
