Coolant flush

Hi guys. I bought a 96 disco recently. she sat up for about 18 months. it drives well but the water is brown and i was wanting to do a coolant flush.
can anyone tell me the best way to do this.

Use a dishwasher tablet in the water but flush it out after as it has salt in it.

I was advised this on a previous thread and dont the powder in the tablet dissolve?
